The extra E's are for EEEEEEEEEE, that was fun. My friend Dave has a good thing going where he buys, super cheap, run-down houses that are in much need of repair/refurbishment, and I don't mean just paint, I mean new floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, wiring, plumbing, etc. Dave KNOWS his home repair.
Anyway, from time to time, he puts out requests for assistance in doing various things, including a fair bit of demolition work. Last night was Kitchen Demolition night in Medford. Myself, Dave, and my buddy Josh removed all the wallpaper, THICK plaster (the good stuff, too), lathing and wooden wall boards in the entirety of the kitchen. 2.5 hours of crowbar madness, plaster dust in and on everything (thank god we had masks), coughing, getting hit in the head with huge chunks of plaster, and consumption of pizza, beer and soda.
About 10:45pm, I got so tired I could hardly hold the crowbar up over my head to get the pieces of plaster from up near the tops of the (9.5ft) walls. Three hours of severe kitchen demolition (and 45 minutes of cleanup from the previous ceiling demolition) was my limit. The kitchen went from "filled with lathe and plaster" to "swept clean" to "REfilled with lathe and plaster and wood" in 4 hours. It was a good four-hours work. I think Fridays are going to be my standing demolition days with Dave. :)
