Firefox help, anyone?

Somewhere around Firefox version 1.2 or so, I stopped being able to open IMAGE links into new TABS with the middle mouse button on my mouse.  I can still open HTML links into new tabs with the middle button, but I can't do it with IMAGES as links.  Anyone got any idea if this was intended?  It sure is annoying if not. :)

Images as links work fine for me. You sure that the image goes somewhere?

I can't imagine EVERY fark image link is broken. :) Yeah, I'm pretty sure. :P

I don't use a mouse at home, only a touch pad with two buttons, so I couldn't really say. My normal mice have a scroll wheel instead of third button anyway.

Wow, I didn't even know you could do that. I always just right click and select open in new tab.
