That's a first...I've never seen anyone list that as a favorite food :) I had it once and hated it... Is there a certain way you make it so it tastes good? (In all fairness to asparagus, I DID have it from a can....)

You need really fresh asparagus, and you need to STEAM it JUST until it starts to soften up. You can put a little butter on it, but if they're fresh, and you don't make them mushy, the head on the top (and about 80% of the stem) is delicious.

Or you can lightly grill the fresh asparagus and finish it with a little lemon juice, olive oil, alt, & pepper.

That too. We do that pretty often in the summer (grill it, anyway. I don't usually get too fancy with the toppings, although I probably should more often.)

Grilled asparagus perfectly in season is a great reason to master making hollandaise sauce. :)
