The Roomba is currently doing its thing. I think I'm in Robotic love.

...aaaand it's done with pretty much our entire living room, dining room and half the kitchen. And they're all clean. I opened up the dirt trays on the roomba, and it was almost FULL of pine needles, dust, and cat hair. And an entire piece of thick sissel rope from the scratching post. The dust catcher was full of dirt and dust. I love this thing already.

Ooookay, you've sold me. Consider it added to the "future new house" fund.

It's pretty cool. I'm sure they'll have newer models in a few months too. :)

So how well do you find it does areas with a lot of furniture?

Tall furniture is goes under. It has a cute little algorithm where when it encounters an object, it nudges along the side of it finding the edges and cleaning right up against the edges. If you don't have any paths wide enough for the Roomba to get into an area, unless it can climb over something very short to get to the area, you're out of luck. It does get through spaces pretty much EXACTLY as wide as it is, however.
