Distance Travelled: ~21 miles
Time to travel final mile: 31 minutes
Cars I pushed out of traffic who were stuck in snow: 1
Detours I took trying to find a faster way home: 5.
Time saved in detours: 3 minutes.
Disabled cars I passed: 4
Number of times I said, "DAMN I LOVE THESE SNOW TIRES": eleventy billion.


We had dinner in Quincy Center, in one of two restaurants we passed that was still open, "Blue 22". Was very yummy. We had hoped the waiting would improve traffic going the last 5 miles to home, but Ohhhh no.

Time we left Quincy Office: 6:45pm
Cars I dug out of wife's work parking lot before we left: 1 (poor ricky)
Time we arrived at home in Weymouth: 8:10pm
Distance travelled: 5 miles
Detours I took trying to find a faster way home: 2
Time saved in detours: ZERO
Stranded/broken/abandoned vehicles in a 1/4 mile stretch around the fore river
bridge: 3 cars, and ONE MBTA BUS stuck on bridge.
Cars I passed stuck on the hill of our street: one large Lincoln Continental, who is probably still there.
Number of times I said, "DAMN I LOVE THESE SNOW TIRES": Only three billion.

So, for a total travel distance of about.... 26 miles, I drove nearly four hours.

Seriously, massachusetts, it's SNOW. It's not Napalm, it's not a mine field. WE SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DRIVE MORE THAN 3MPH in snow. And if there's two lanes, and someone's right behind you because you're driving in the MIDDLE of two lanes, MOVE THE HELL OVER. THEY MAY JUST KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING.

Oh, and I have to go to work tomorrow. :|

I feel you, man. My eight miles back to Watertown took two hours. As if work hadn't been stressful enough this week!

ironically, Mike reports having had NO traffic getting home, once he got past UFPC.

And I still think it was negative time saved on the detour going home.
