Scott Adams, discussing the "Phantom Cellphone Ring" syndrome.

"Dilbert" cartoonist Scott Adams wrote on his blog, dilbert.org, that he feels the phantom vibrations, "about 10 times per day" and thinks "'Ooh, it's an e-mail with good news!' So far, the only good news is that my pocket is vibrating, and that's OK because it gives me hope that the condition might spread to the rest of my pants."

Here's the article. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071011/ap_on_hi_te/phantom_vibrations_7

This has actually been happening to me lately. I hope it's not nerve damage. :)

Oh, I get that from my cellphone, but almost always only when I am wearing it. I think it's gas rumbling through my innards.

I don't have gas rumbling through my innards on my middle thigh on the outside, where I wear my phone in a cargo-pants pocket. At least, I HOPE that's not Gas.

Heh. Mine's on my belt at the right.

My wife was embarrassed at all the junk I carry: belt loaded with PDA, phone, keys, and Swiss Army knife, plus a fanny pack. Then we moved to a university neighborhood and she saw LOTS of middle-aged academic males similarly encumbered, and decided it wasn't so egregious after all.
