Not to be a downer, but the best memory I have of you was after my father's funeral. I don't know if I ever told you this, but you really helped me through one of the hardest times in my life. I was so close to my father, but after that whole mess with mom. Well, I don't want to reopen old wounds.

I remember after the funeral how you took me out to that bar. Just sitting there talking over beers about all the good memories. You helped me realize that it was stupid to beat myself up over the 3 bad years and ignore all the good years I had with my father. How much you wished you had a father who you could have been close to. And how that even though dad and I had a falling out that he still was proud and loved me. If it hadn't been for you I don't know how I would have made it through those first few months without him.
