I visit Ikea! Behold! We are now proud owners of a SOFA which shall be delivered on the 19th, and which will fit through our doorway with ONE INCH to spare. Hee hee.

Ektorp is pretty nice. When we were buying a bunch of stuff at Ikea a couple weekends ago we looked at the sofas -- my favorite is the brown leather Kramfors -- but none of them would have fit through the door into our living room. We did get a Hopen bed, though, which is very nice.

That is precisely why I went down there with a big-ass tape measure tonight, to see if the piece(s) would fit through the door. Since it's an L couch, it actually comes apart into 3 sections, and their height measurement includes the big puffy sticking up cushions, which we can remove to get it in the door. Looks like we have ONE INCH to play with. :)

And leather + cats is bad. We can't do leather. :(

Oh, yeah, we have cats too, so we couldn't actually have Kramfors even if it would fit through the door (and maybe you didn't notice, but they actually provide handy little disposable, paper tape measures at the store, which I thought was nice). I just like it, is all :-)

Loos comfy! I wish i had any confidence that a beige or white sofa would look any good in our place after the first month... I think we're candidates for red or brown.
