Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come in the future. I, for one, welcome our traffic-enforcement overlords.

Rte. 128/I-95 North (I-95 to Mass Pike/I-90) Police checkpoint at Exit 16: Rte. 109. Breakdown lane enforcement. Expect delays.

Why should you be worried about traffic checkpoints, Citizen?

...Do you have something to hide?

No, no, of course not. Who would want to only the guilty have something to hide or a need for privacy.

We trust the government to do the right thing to protect us.

Civil Liberties are just a series of loopholes for the terrorists you know.

Wait, is the checkpoint just to enforce the breakdown lane rules? I mean, no offense, but I think last time I checked the police were allowed to enforce laws.

Traffic enforcement does not sound like "police checkpoint." And you KNOW (don't lie, you know the stereotype) what "police checkpoint" sounds like it could be looking for. :)

And at that spot on the highway, during rush hour, it's legal to use the breakdown lane. So, nit sure what exactly they'd be looking for.

Probably TRUCKS in the breakdown lane, which I do see from time to time. Hey, if they can fit in the lane, more power to them. :)

Scary sounding. What all were they checking for?

Beakdown lane violations is what the posting said, but they were gone by the time I got there. Just like Black Ops Helicopters. (Twilight Zone Music)

As you and I know, checkpoints aren't actually necessary for breakdown lane violations. Which is the rub.
