Well, thanks to the IT department of my company and their thoroughly MARVELOUS content filtering system, I can no longer:
1: Use Gmail properly in regular mode
2: Log in to LiveJournal
3: Reply to any LJ messages on the site
4: use any buttons in Yahoo Mail (except reading the messages, I can do that)

So, basically, if you need me to REPLY to anything right now, call me, or mail me at me GMAIL account. And if I don't reply to your LJ, it's not you, it's me. Well, it's my IT group, really....

SSH works, yeah. Sadly, I don't have a fixed IP at home, so that probably won't work, but thanks for the idea. :)

You don't need a fixed IP address. DynDNS.org comes immediately to mind. Can't recall which (free) service I had subscribed to. Most of the Linksys (WRT54G/GS and equivalent) router firmware hacks include dynamic DNS clients.

Come on...major geek points!

I'd tried Dyndns, and it worked OK, but not well enough for me to use. Of course, now, I may try it again.... After this week, I'll give it a try.

No-ip.com

That's the service I used in the past. It was free.

Too bad my roommate's RCN connection is completely suckalicious. Due to my job description, I feel remiss for not running piles of nifty servers at home.
