...if I was the newsman who wrote this headline.

"Dominatrix beats murder rap"

Link here if you're curious. She's from Quincy!

Hey! Mr. Prosecutor-Man has the same hood I do! Golly!

Heh...

Okay, but in all seriousness...given the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' rather puritanical and unenlightened lack of humor and fun (Can you believe we're supposed to be a blue state folks? We're only blue because of the BLUE LAWS.) I don't blame this woman one bit for freaking out, and refusing to call the police.

Classic, classic work

...and the editor gets an assist for letting it through. What would the line have been if she hadn't? "Dominatrix gets the shackles?" In the spirit of Fark, would she be headed to Federal SMOTA prision?

Hee hee. Awesome. SMOTA, I'll need to remember that one. :)

Heh, yeah, FARK listed it as "Dominatrix beats rap, whips prosecutor, boots judge, loses handcuffs". Personally, given the schtick with the hood, I would've gone for "Prosecutor gimped by lack of evidence". ;)

I'd been following this case. There was absolutely no way they were ever going to erase reasonable doubt, seeing as there was no body, no confession, and no original police notes. Good grief. The prosecutor was banking entirely on the old razzle-dazzle to freak out the jury enough that they wouldn't care whether she actually did anything illegal at all. What I wonder is how he did his jury selection. "Hello, Mr.... Smith. So tell me, have you ever engaged in or known anyone to engage in any sort of devient sexual behaviors? Sort of? You're free to go home. Next."

Was that actually the headline? If so, it has been changed.

Hmm, that was the lead-in to the RSS link for the article, anyway. They musta changed it.

Wow.

No wonder the courthouse was so packed yesterday!

I was thinking today -- considering the relationship, would'nt being killed and chainsawed to pieces constitute the Deluxe Package?
