This seems to be my week to be left-out or shut down by friends. A friend I figured would know how to contact me, who has everyone else' cell number, had to call my work number and DIDN'T have my cell.

Yeah, whiny. I know. Sorry.

We were supposed to meet up today. Answer unclear, try again later.

My "friends" have been total flake wads lately as well, so I feel for you.

Heh. I'm used to some friends being flaky, it's just weird knowing this person has everyone else's cellphone number except yours. What, I don't rate? :)

Not that I have a clue, but is it possible that he assumed he had it but had an old one, or had a mis-transcribed number? Happened to me with a friend not too long ago, though I just called her home number and had her call me.

Nooo, they pretty much came out and said, "I don't have your number." Meh. :) I'm working on being over it.

This whole piece here I'm posting stems from the greater feeling I have of no longer being "in the center" of my circle of friends, which is true. I simply don't have the time anymore. It's just harsh seeing it so clearly, y'know?

It's weird but also sad how things change as we get older. We used to have all the time in the world, or else it sure seemed that way. Growing up is hard.

I guess I don't get what the big deal is. They knew how to find you, and they did.

Well, to be fair, I called them first, so they had my work number on caller ID, AND I left the Cell # on the Voicemail message, and they STILL didn't bother listening to that to get it. It's just a feeling like, "They've got everyone else's cell phone numbers, they call them, why aren't I good enough to be in the phone?" I know, kinda weak. I was having a socially weak day. Exercise Therapy (rollerblading with Hannah) cured that. :)

Eh, I guess I beat you to the finish line on being whiny then. I already made a post about being outta the loop. ;) And I don't consider it whiny at all.

meh, my "friends" never call me and a good bit of my time is spent with Sandy. i think they're a bit pissed that i would put a girl before them but i'm sorry the whole "bros before hoes" thing is complete bullshit. i really don't care about most of them anymore especially since they all(including Jeff who i've nown for most of my life) forgot my birthday 2 years in a row.fuck 'em

You change cell phones an awful lot (whether or not this is true, I perceive it to be true). Thus, I am not sure I have your number anymore. Care to share?

My cell number hasn't actually changed for four years now. I change PHONES, but the number's been the same a while. And I'll IM it to you. :)

I can empathize with this. I started getting this feeling a couple years ago. Couldn't tell you exactly what started it. But it just got more pronounced as I created more, varied, groups of people in my life from totally different parts of my life that don't really interact. You can't ever really be at the center of any social universe when you are always on the intersecting fringe of 3 or 4 social groups. And I also realized that there were lots of people who thought they knew me and really didn't or who should have known me better and displayed that they didn't. I also discovered that there are quiet people in the background of my life who do know me rather well, and I am trying to make more space for them.

Sorry for the ramble. Point is, I get ya' there man! I totally know where you live when it comes to this experience.
