Beware, I live!
Jun. 17th, 2002 01:30 pmThis weekend was BUSY! Saturday was "Dad-In-Law takes Hannah out so Jenn and I can host Lag Day" Day. Those two went to the Children's Museum, and little Widget apparently had a blast! Hooray!
Everyone started showing up around our house about 10:15, but we didn't get underway until close to Noon, due to stragglers, planning, etc. We ended up going to the Providence Mall, 'cause A: They have a Dave & Busters, but also because they had a Nordstroms for the ladies that didn't want gaming. It was a day of much Ferrari Simulator, Pump It Up (which apparently I'm not all bad at), and pool, which I sucked at since I haven't played in a year. Even the trip down itself was exciting, including Ajax and I travelling Route 95 S. at 115mph, and the women in our respective cars all turning funny colors. :)
The trip back wasn't QUITE as fast, although I got to discover my father-in-law's car does NOT have ABS, when the car in front of the car in front of me stopped DEAD to make a left hand turn they'd already driven past. *PANT GASP WHEEZE*
After this trip, it was time for the night of Card Games and PS2s, and BBQs. I cooked SO much damn food, and for once, it almost ALL got eaten. Hannah, amazingly, fell asleep and STAYED asleep through 5+ hours of people laughing and yelling and cheering each other downstairs, Siercia and I both had fun, and everyone else appeared to be having fun too. I kicked Bigheart out at 1am, after playing some Gauntlet: Dark Legends (Thanks Ajax and PrunesNPrisms for leaving that at my place), and went to bed. Woke up the next day for a Post-festivities Dim Sum downtown. Mmmm, wacky Chinese Food!
For an almost-aborted, truncated Lag Day, this wasn't too poor! Next year, NO RAIN! No, really!
