How I spent my weekend - Saturday.

Well, it WAS busy. Saturday was
siercia's Family's Reunion, on the "Family Farm" outside of Enfield, New Hampshire. We got a late start, but avoided any rain on the 2.5 hour trip up there. Widget was all excited to see her grandfather, and I was looking forward to the entire roast pig that they do every year, even though I was missing my Frisbee game. It turns out it was a good choice to go, because no one showed up to play Frisbee.
When we got there, Hannah got to see Grandpa and Grandma (Siercia's parents) and her Uncle James. It was HUMID, and pretty hot, and the huge field where the picnic is held had some pretty big puddles. I wore my boots, smart boy that I was, but the other kids there were getting SOAKED. Haw haw! I wandered around for a while, splitting my time between watching Hannah, and looking for someone to throw a Frisbee with. Eventually, I had a small army of kids of all ages out there throwing the Frisbee around with me, and the best one was probably no older than 6 or 7, but he had a good arm, and could throw really STRAIGHT! I had him running all over the place trying to catch the stuff I was throwing to him, and he was loving it.
Then, it was time for the *Doot doo doooo* Hayride! Yup, a big orange tractor, and a trailer with hay bales all over it. Widget and I got on the first ride (with my father-in-law), and that first ride was the best. The guy driving took us waaaay up the road into the woods where it was nice and cool. Hannah was a little iffy at first, but she seemed to be having a good time after a while. We rode around the dirt roads in the area, and then around the fields that made up the farm, and then back to the big tents. At this point, THE PIG had arrived (yes, a whole BBQ'd pig) and we all heartily dug in. After that, more Frisbee, more hayriding, more food, and by that point, it was 5:30pm. We stopped at a playground Siercia had spotted on the way in, and let Widget run off whatever energy she had left at that point, got back on the road by 6:30pm, and Widget pretty promptly fell asleep. She woke up at the New Hampshire/MA Border (after another exciting 90+mph run across route 89) but was just quiet and subdued until we got home, and put her to bed. The rest of the evening was a kind of hazy snacking lazing time, and I finished playing "Enter the Matrix" on the PS2. w00t. Then, Bed. (Zzzzz)
