Aw, that's kind of a bad attitude to have about things. :/ Not that it's my house you weren't invited to, but as you know I can't always fit as many people in mine as I would like to do (and also stay sane and migraine-free)
here's what you're supposed to do when that happens:
Have your SO call the host/ess of the party and fish for an invitation.
When this does not generate an invitation for you, make your SO call again and fish some more, perhaps even make up some plans of your own that you had hoped to include THEM in, so they'll be sure to feel like ass for not inviting you *guilt guilt, manipulate manipulate*.
Then when THAT doesn't work, IM them witn a bunch of crazy-ass accusations and kitchen-sink insults about every slight they've ever given you and how they've NEVEr ever ever been a good friend to you.
Then unfriend them on LJ and make your SO and all your friends do so, as well.
Then post stuff in your LJ about how narcissistic and immature they are under friends lock, while publicly posting that your LJ is no longer available for 'drama'
No idea what specific events if any you may be referring to as I spent a chunk of the weekend at a ticketed event (Boston SF Marathon), but...
*shrug*
Corollarily (maybe that wasn't a real word, but it is now!), I am consistently amazed by how many social events I find I am invited to, but missed, by NOT keeping up on reading my lj friends list.
Life is an N Ring Circus, where N will always be greater than the number of hours of free time we'll ever have.
You and your family are ever in Cincinnati and we will party! Then we will post about it and say how much we LAUGHED about some of the posts in LJ.....hee hee! Hell I say we make it all up anyway just to mess with folks!
