Today was supposed to be the day I got out of work early, and drove Hannah down to her grandfather's house in CT.  It decided instead to be the day it snowed all over the place, which is fine, I don't mind snow.  I even left early!  I get to my wife's office, where Widget is, and her cough is terrible.  Like, WHY THE HELL DOES SHE ALWAYS GET SICK THIS DAMN XMAS PARTY WEEKEND bad.  Seriously, I think the past two years (and this one) she's been sick for this weekend.  *sigh*

Well, whatever, a little cough never (usually) kills anyone, so we pile into the car.  She hasn't had lunch yet, so we stop at Wendy's, and get some foods.  She starts eating fries as we're pulling out of the parking lot.  NO LIE, 10 seconds later, vomit is spewing out of her mouth, not one, but FOUR times, all over herself, the carseat, the back of the front passenger seat, and the floor of the car.  Breakfast, dinner from last night, all of that stupid bottle of Yoohoo she'd been drinking....  All of it came out, and she's COVERED.  She is, as you would expect, hysterical, thinking she's ruined her clothes.  Note that it's blowing snow, freezing cold, and I'm in the middle of the street.  We get pulled over, and I get her out of the car, and her clothing, carseat, everything is totally NOT SALVAGABLE for going anywhere, plus, ya know, she just barfed all over the place.  After a quick call to Siercia, I decide to head home, and at least get her showered and clothes changed, and then evaluate going anywhere.  Upon getting home, decide a nap's a good idea (for her), and put her into her bed after showering and changing clothes.  I get to spend the next hour outside in the nice cold car cleaning up vomit from all over the back seat and floor, the passenger seat and various other sneaky places.  Then I got to disassemble the carseat, and clean that too.

She woke up from her nap still coughing, although she slept fine, and she's still pretty out of it.  So, no CT tonight, and most likely, unless she makes a miraculous recovery tonight while sleeping, none at all this weekend, and I'm sure that'll put her in a fine frame of mind.  So, yeah, there goes our nice relaxing weekend.  Wheeeee.

I know it's wrong, and I am sorry you went through that, but that just cracked me up. Serious laughter. I hope she is feeling better and all that.

Poor Widget. :( I hope she DOES make a miraculous recovery, for both your sakes!

Made me think of Pulp Fiction. Perhaps you needed The Wolf.

Ew, that sounds nasty. Sorry you can't have your weekend alone. I'm still stuck here, stealing wireless and waiting for the cable guy.

I want to say something sympathetic to you and the Amazing Exploding Wiget -- but I'm trapped between cruel laughture and an Ewwwwwwwwwwww noise.

Think of it as an adventure -- and an excuse to drink heavilly.
