If it wasn't the French, they probably would. At the start of the Tour of Flanders this year, the Belgian hosts practically gave him the key to the city before the race. There was a three-piece band that sang "This Lance is Your Lance" (this is lance is my lance, etc) before the start, followed by a bravely lame rendition of Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do" when Lance actually came out. Damn.
