Friday weirdness

siercia's flight came in to Logan from LAX on Friday evening, about 8:30. Widget and I arrived and parked, and went in to meet her, and since we were early, we were wandering Terminal B. We walked up and down once, and then stopped to look at one of those Lobster tanks. As I turn around, I recognize the two people sitting in the chairs against the windows across the aisle: Michael and Kitty Dukakis. I swore it was him, and when he got up, and she called him Michael, I KNEW it was him. Since I literally lived two blocks away from him in Brookline when I was growing up, and remember seeing him around, I HAD to introduce myself.

He was extremely friendly, and spent a few minutes talking to Widget, asking her how old she was, and where she lived, etc. He was just as nice and friendly as he'd been 20 years ago, and didn't look all that much older. It turned out his daughter was coming in on the same flight as Siercia was, so we ended up standing next to each other at the baggage claim, so Siercia got to meet them as well.

It was an interesting end to her trip, and some real nostalgia for me. And he looks DAMN good for a 72 year old guy. :)
