Certain towns did allow it before. If you were within 10 miles of a VT or NH border, you've always been able to buy alcohol on Sundays. Greenfield and Montague allow it, so I guess I forgot it was a big deal to the rest of the state.
Then again, since I don't really drink, it's not a real big deal to me anyhow. :)
It's only from Thanksgiving to New Years or some such thing. They did the same thing last year in Westborough. I guess the "Alcohol is evil" crowd thinks it's OK to get smashed during the Holidays but not the rest of the year.
Blue laws are dumb. What if a Church finds out it's out of wine Sunday morning? They can't go out and buy more! :)
I always grinned while driving home through South Carolina on a Sunday, seeing the broom handles and whatnot shoved through the convenience store beer cooler door handles.
