Ditto. Another hint with staggering breathing is to mouth the consonant before you take the breath over the vowel. Eg 'Oh though that tellest g--- tidings to Zion'. A place not to breathe is right before the final note of a cadence. Eg, don't sing Ha-leeee-luuuuuu *breath* yaaaaaaa!!

As you get used to it, it will become easier, especially as you learn to sing from your diaphram more.
