Full Marks for Floyd Landis
Floyd Landis deserves FULL Credit for coming back from a disastrous day like he had in the Tour de France yesterday, and doing what he did in the Tour Stage 17 today. Something extremely cool, I thought, was this part of his press conference from yesterday.
Phonak manager (Floyd's team) Lelangue later admitted Eddy Merckx threw in a nugget of his knowledge to help relaunch Landis's resurrection.
"My father called me after Wednesday's stage and told me, 'the race is not over'," said Lelangue, whose father was once a domestique for the elder Merckx. "Eddy Merckx was also on the phone trying to give us some advice. He said that the race is not over, and that we had to attack."
HOW COOL would it be to have probably the best bicycle racer in the world calling to give you and your team advice? :)
